Hi, there! I’m Jason Manley and I make block prints. I live in a small farmhouse in Southwest Virginia and my workbench is an old Mealmaster cook stove. Even though I don’t have an awful lot of wall space, I truly believe there’s always room for more art, especially the kind that makes you happy. I’ve always loved indulging my creative whims, even when the results weren’t always perfect. When I was a kid, my report card noted that my coloring skills needed improvement and that I had trouble staying within the lines. Thirty-odd years later, I figured out that you don’t always have to color within the lines if you make the lines yourself. Lately, my favorite way of making the lines is with carving tools, a block, some ink, and my little press. Making prints makes me happy, and I hope my prints make you happy, too.
